The Human Quotient team is spread across the country. From Perth to the Sunshine Coast, our team members work in various places: some mix work from home, with time at government offices, event venues and industrial sites.

Our Team Planning Day provides a chance for us to all get together, share ideas and learn about the direction of the business. In many cases it’s the first time people get to meet each other face-to-face, after working together via digital channels!

Chance to focus on priorities and get to know each other

For Co-Founders, Claire and Ron, this event is pivotal to the business.

“Our people are the energy that flows through this business as well as the core part of our capability,” said Claire.

“We love being in the same place with everyone and also getting to know people better. Our team is very diverse and yet everyone supports each other and engages with each other.”

As a growing business, exploring strategic direction and evolving operations go hand in hand.

“The planning day in 2025 gave us a chance to work through some important new policies, such as our Wellbeing policy, and also provide guidance on our systems and processes,” said Ron.

“Having everyone able to dive into our systems and projects, whether it’s the Employee Handbook or preparing for upcoming tender submissions, at the same time is invaluable. Everyone can learn and talk through concerns in the one space at the one time.”

A packed agenda and time for fun

The Human Quotient Group team planning day included sessions on:

  • What it means to be an impact-focused business; as we’re a social enterprise.
  • The HQG Mindset for Success. We explored what it takes to further solidify the culture we have, and grow how we want to grow.
  • What it means to be a brand ambassador and leader.
  • Building our culture: practical approaches for getting the balance right in our locations.
  • Preparing for the upcoming Defence Capability Support Panel. We broke up into groups and documented who would take the lead with different categories.

There’s always some local activities in the mix and this time we embarked on an escape room adventure. The debrief reports provided by Strike, analysing teams’ communication, problem solving and analytical skills were brutal but valid.

We also had lunch, dinner and breakfast together before heading off to Indo Pacific on Tuesday 4 November.

Meet Lego Ron

While our (human) Co-Founders and team were busy at Indo Pacific 2025 doing serious things… like networking and talking capability… Lego Ron was busy.

He was out there having time of his life.
