Insights from Ron
What's exciting about the defence industry? / How did you get started in the industry?
Being an ex-Navy Officer, Defence Industry provided me with the right mix of continuing service (without the uniform constraints) and career development.
What is the one thing you wish people knew about your job?
I’d like to see a greater understanding of integrated logistics support (ILS) as it’s so relevant to effective project delivery. It’s something I’m working on a lot this year—talking about ILS more and looking at how we uplift Defence industry capability.
Ron has been creating an ILS masterclass for project managers, engineers and other professionals working in Defence industry.
If you could only name one thing, what would you like to see in your industry in 2025?
More diversity, transparency and fairness.
What's your best tip for great work-life balance? / What do you do to unwind & find calm?

What is your proudest professional accomplishment?
Two come to mind: setting up this company, as a social enterprise, with my wife and having awesome humans join us.
What's your theme song for 2025? / Word for the year.
Be.
What's one thing you are grateful for today? / What's currently on your bucket list?
I’m grateful for my family and the ease that comes from living in a beautiful place.
What do you think makes our team culture unique?
Support for people; diversity of thinking.
What advice would you give to someone considering a career change or just starting out their professional journey??
Staying put can be hard. Change can feel hard but choosing to live differently could open up countless opportunities. Whenever you make an intentional choice, you’ve won.
Heart of culture is focusing on each other
For Ron, the heart of Human Quotient Group’s culture lies in its people. What sets the team apart is a deep, unwavering commitment to supporting one another and embracing a true diversity of thought. It’s a place where individuals are encouraged to bring their whole selves to the table — where different perspectives aren’t just welcomed, they’re essential to how the team grows and delivers.
Ron’s approach to leadership — and life — is grounded in what matters most. In a fast-paced world that often celebrates hustle and competition over harmony, he leads with intention, presence, and perspective. Ron believes in the power of pausing, letting go, and creating space for what truly counts. With his daily gratitude practice, he reminds us that real leadership starts from within — and that fulfillment isn’t found in the frenzy, but in the everyday moments we choose to honour.
