From service to strategy
Jayson’s journey began when he joined the Navy straight out of school. Over the decades, he built a career in Supply Chain and Logistics. This path took him across the world and gave him a deep appreciation for operational excellence and teamwork.
After leaving the Navy in 2017, Jayson transitioned into the Defence industry, where he continues to apply his experience in procurement, logistics, and commercial management to strengthen capability and collaboration.
His adaptability and hands-on approach make him a trusted colleague and an integral part of the Human Quotient Group team.

What's exciting about the defence industry? / How did you get started in the industry?
“I joined the Navy straight out of school, served for 23 years in Supply Chain and Logistics functions and then moved to the Defence industry in 2017.”
What is the one thing you wish people knew about your job?
“I’m a jack-of-all-trades so I help out with commercial and procurement related projects, client relations, tenders and anything else that pops up.”
Jayson is a commercial and procurement specialist helping Australia’s Defence capability through better projects and contracts.
If you could only name one thing, what would you like to see in your industry?
“Increasing Australia’s domestic manufacturing capabilities, reducing reliance on overseas suppliers, and ensuring self-sufficiency.”
What's your best tip for great work-life balance? / What do you do to unwind & find calm?
“Taking time to focus on important things in life such as family and health. To unwind, the headphones go on and any genre of music plays consistently. Also, I love to get out for a little blast on the motorbike every now and then.”

What's currently on your bucket list?
“Visit Oaxaca in Mexico (finger crossed later this year).”
What's your theme song for 2025? / Word for the year.
What’s the strangest thing that has happened to you on a job in your career?
“Working with an American Soldier in Hawaii for 6 weeks, and then two years later being on the same flight in the Middle East. We ended up working together again for 6 months.”
What do you think makes our team culture unique?
“Although we come from, and work in different areas around Australia, we all have a shared passion for what we do.”
What advice would you give to someone considering a career change or just starting out their professional journey??
“Be open and take the leap. It’s too easy to think that you may not succeed in something new. Give it a crack – what’s the worst that can happen?”
