Media release
Human Quotient Group announces upcoming 2026 Cowork Coplay programs in Darwin, Katherine and Adelaide.
Three upcoming Cowork Coplay programs, designed specifically for family members of current- and former-serving Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel, are confirmed for the Northern Territory and South Australia.
The transformative program offers a unique opportunity for participants to focus on what matters to them; from career goals to personal development and wellbeing. Over 8 weeks, participants attend weekly 3-hour, face-to-face sessions that blend facilitated workshops, learning, self-directed working time and opportunities to connect with others who share similar experiences.
With a focus on self-growth, strengths, career and life goals, meaningful connections and wellbeing, the program supports participants in all life and career stages. This includes participants who are seeking or blending employment, upskilling, business and exploring new directions. Many are balancing a mix of family, caring or Defence service responsibilities.
Importantly, creche-style child care is provided during sessions, helping remove a barrier to participating in professional development and networking for many families with young children.
The programs are fully subsidised (free) for eligible participants thanks to the valuable contributions of supporters: Veterans SA (South Australian Government), the Northern Territory Government, APOD and Lives Lived Well. In Adelaide, SA the program is returning for its fourth year, while in Darwin, NT the program is returning after its inaugural delivery in 2025.

“The Cowork Coplay program is designed to be a supportive, energising space for participants to explore what matters most to them.”
“Some participants have told us their experience through the program has been profound, enlightening and transformative on many levels. For some this is the first time they’ve participated in an initiative designed for them, not the serving member or veteran partner. For some this program provides a first introduction to services and supports from wonderful organisations in the community. For others, the program has given them the chance to meet their first friend in the new location.”
“We’re grateful to our funding partners and supporters who show leadership in acknowledging Defence and veteran spouses and families as the powerhouses they are for local communities and economies.”
Quotes attributable to Veterans SA Director, Bianca Wheeler:
“The program’s growth reflects a stronger focus on supporting Defence and veteran families in ways that genuinely match their lived experiences.”
“Initiatives like Cowork Coplay are helping to recognise the often-overlooked role of partners by providing flexible, practical support that helps them reconnect with their careers, build confidence and strengthen social connections.”
“Empowering partners has a broader impact, contributing to the resilience and long-term wellbeing of the wider veteran community across South Australia.”
Quotes attributable to past Cowork Coplay program participants:
“Cowork Coplay is a fantastic program that allows spouses to explore their needs while navigating military life. If you have children they provide the care and you get to do you. If your children need to be with you don’t worry they can be and no one worries about a little noise or play alongside sessions. It is a welcoming space to build a network of friends, share your struggles and be guided by a great team to enhance your overall wellbeing and career pathways.”
– Sarah Cullen, Darwin 2025 Cowork Coplay program participant
“Cowork Coplay was genuinely uplifting for me. As a Defence spouse with a non-linear career, I often felt unsure about how to present my experience after motherhood and relocations. The program helped ease that anxiety and gave me the confidence to value my skills and my journey. The child minding, networking and practical resources were incredibly helpful, and I discovered Defence programs I didn’t even know existed. I also made some lovely connections. Overall, it boosted my confidence and had a positive impact on both me and my family.”
– Anna Breckenridge, Darwin 2025 Cowork Coplay program participant
“I’m so grateful for Cowork Coplay. It’s given me confidence, a renewed sense of purpose, and something to genuinely look forward to each week. I’ve learned mindfulness techniques that I now use in both my personal and professional life, and I’ve gained practical tools for job searching. I only wish Cowork Coplay had been available at my previous posting locations!”
– Joanne Cooke, Adelaide 2025 Cowork Coplay program participant
“Cowork Coplay helped me feel more confident and motivated. It gave me time to focus on my career and reminded me that I’m not alone. I took real steps toward finding work and felt supported every week.”
– Cindy Liang, Adelaide 2025 Cowork Coplay program participant
